bruh, i just saw a video that said the reason wolfwood died was because he never atoned for his sins like vash does??? my brother in christ, wolfwood’s death was to show how inherently flawed vash’s philosophy actually is. wolfwood finally took on vash’s ideals and it killed him.
this scene absolutely broke my heart. knives truly wanted to protect his little brother and vash just wanted to live in peace with his big brother. they’re literally BEGGING each other for this not to happen. now, they’ll never have quiet moments, stargazing together ever again.
its always so funny watching anime that rely on the “power of friendship” because all the “power of friendship” did for trigun was get wolfwood killed.
same. like, i wonder if knives’ growing resentment and hatred towards rem and humanity is because she chose to stay behind and die saving humans instead of choosing to live and be with them. i bet it felt like such a deep betrayal, especially after learning about tesla.
wait. are you literally telling me that rem taught and encouraged them to play piano and knives, despite everything that has happened, chose to continue to keep furthering the skill that she fostered??? is that what i’m witnessing here??? i’m about to gouge my eyes and heart out.
i think changing knives cutting vash’s arm off to save him in tristamp was a smart move. 98 really told a whole generation that k hated v and only wanted to hurt him and make him suffer. tristamp is flipping that narrative by making it blatantly obvious that knives loves vash.
the realization in their faces has me sick. the realization that they’ll never reach each other, they’ll never see eye to eye, they’ll have to turn their backs on each others despite the love they have for their brother. they tried so hard but here was the nail in their coffin.
this is crazy to me because i have always headcanoned that vash’s eyes slightly glow at all times but you could only really notice in pitch dark (and obviously his emotions dictates brightness, ex. diablo) but this kind of makes my hc canon.
trigun has been around for almost 30 YEARS. do not try and guilt me for spoiling you. it’s not my fault you only saw the new anime and didn’t find it in your best interest to read trimax or watch 98. i’ve been SCREAMING about trigun for the last 20 years, i’m not gonna stop now.
trigun fans spent literal decades being confused, thinking vash and knives were 🌱 plants when they were actually 💡plants, all for stampede to come out of nowhere and fuse the two concepts, making them both 🌱 and 💡 plants. they were so real for that.
wolfwood was basically right the entire time. you can’t save everyone. sometimes someone has to die. yeah, he shouldn’t’ve been so flagrant with his killing, being an assassin and all, but, in the end, he was right.
knives needing vash’s help to be able to play the complete piano piece being a metaphor for knives’ need of vash to be a complete being will never not shred me from the inside out.
have you guys ever really thought about vash’s age? he is 150 years old. like, how many friends and loved ones has he had to abandon, watch die or push away because of his immortality? he loves humanity so much but he isn’t allowed to keep it. that’s the true tragedy of vash.
i hate seeing ppl say trigun 98 is bad. is it a bit dated and have some 90s anime tropes? for sure, but bad? look, theres a reason a whole gen, myself included, fell in love with the series from that show alone (bc its all we had at the time) and why its now considered a classic.
some of these takes i’ve been seeing about tristamp s2 by people who, obviously, haven’t read trimax are hysterical. like, yeah, what you’re predicting *is* going to happen bc the events you’re predicting literally happen in the manga. you’d know that if you actually read it.
so, i got into trigun bc my crush was drawing wolfwood in art class and i asked him who it was. “oh, he’s a priest in an anime called trigun”. i took one look at ww’s tiddies and went, “he’s a priest?” “um, he’s not a very good one…” i watched trigun for the 1st time that night.
bro, imagine being wolfwood. you go in thinking your job is to babysit another millions knives, only to find out you’re actually looking after a literal ray of sunshine with a pretty smile and the purest heart you’ve ever known. my boy was blindsided. he didn’t stand a chance.
not that this is breaking news but i really do have to believe that vash’s hair is going to be a plot point in stampede. i mean, look at his hair as a child compared to now and then look at knives’. vash’s hair and eyebrows got significantly darker while knives’ stayed the same.
i understand yesterday’s episode was jarring and hard to watch for some but trimax has a literal r//pe scene in it. i’m not saying this to infer that people should just “deal with it”, but to remind vets and warn stampede-onlies that trigun deals with very uncomfortable themes.
