I'm at ICE again. As the march was leaving the park a Portland Street car came up from behind, the crowd parted to let the streetcar through. For a few short blocks a Portland bureau of transportation SUV followed the protest making sure no cars could get near the crowd. Weird.

The dance between officers and protesters continued to influence the snipers throughout the night. Even with clouds of smoke and tear gas drifting up towards the unmasked snipers they remained.

The the white fog machine is out. When I heard it start I walked out to get a clear video. An officer armed with an assault rifle motions for me to cross the street, as I do so I'm then told to move back, the officer continues to walk aggressively towards me for almost a block.

I finally made it to Rev Hall. In the distance, 360 degrees around the hall, you can hear the distance booms of fireworks. At the Hall there's none, only flags being burnt. After last year, no one in this crowd wants to be around fireworks. That's how fucked up these folks got.

Found the fire line and crew working on the Mill Creek fire in western Oregon. Stopped and talked with a few of them while they are dinner. They are filthy, covered from head to toe in soot and sweat. I'm allowed to take pictures, just nothing of the crew.
