Good morning🌞 I love to draw for the sake of drawing. The Veiled Virgin is a Carrara marble statue carved in Rome by Italian sculptor Giovanni Strazza.

@NouveauDeco I had the honor of working on this masterpiece.

Today I’ve been making different color tests in my figure studies, as well as more conventional “local color” drawings.

From my classical fragments sketchbook. I love to make these drawings as a daily practise and to learn about the history of art -without going into debt to a university that doesn’t want to even look at any art from before the 1950’s.😅

Good Morning🌞 Here’s a landscape I painted in 2017 or so, when I was making an intense study of the ice fields and glaciers all around me here in the Yukon. ( Kaskawulsh Glacier oil on panel 24”x42”)

When I’m not painting landscapes or illustrations I’ve been make these large drawings, for fun and as a kind of artistic reward. I love the exalted state of mind you enter into when just working away in a new medium, with no outcome expectations.

Took a break from the studio to drive out to Atlin for a couple days. They call it the Switzerland of the North, and it’s kind of my home away from home- the wife and dog and I like to ramble around the mountains and the old historic town, and I do some sketching and plein air
