You, @ScottPetersCA50, and the rest of the California Democratic delegation didn't ask for this, but you have risen to the moment. All of us who believe we must fight fire with fire in the face of the Trump power grab are grateful for your leadership.

From day one, this campaign has been about California’s future — tackling rising costs, defending our freedoms, and standing up for communities too often left behind. Vice President Harris has made her decision, and I thank her for her decades of service to our state and country.

Thank you to my incredible board, club members, and to everyone who believes in a fairer, more just world. We’re not done. We’re just getting started. When we fight, we win — and we will keep fighting. ✊

But we also know that progress doesn’t happen overnight. It happens because of people like you who show up, again and again, even when it’s hard. *Especially* when it’s hard. So thank you to my fellow San Diego Democrats and to all of our allies and partners. 💙

The national election didn’t go the way we hoped. We still feel that heartbreak and that disappointment, especially when we wake up and read the news every morning.

But 2024 wasn’t just about wins or losses — it was about building community, developing leaders, and proving that young people aren’t just the future of this party — we are the present.

Several of our members represented us at the @demconvention in Chicago. And yes, we absolutely had fun while doing it. 💃🏻
