Kicking kids out of practice, telling kids if they don’t want to be there they can leave, snarky comments to them, telling them there’s a portal for their effort or actions…..what are we doing? Accept them, work them hard, talk to them, build them up. They’ll love you for it!!

After hosting 7 playoff games you learn a lot about good things teams do. One thing I noticed is that all the playoff teams staff was active with their players and spread out about the dynamic warmup relationship building.

Seeing all these posts about shortage of officials is confusing and painful for me. Sports is one of the top 3 things in my life. Sports has always been fun. I like to officiate. Fans and players, we need to be better and treat officials better. Your yelling at them isn’t ok

Sports standards are crazy. From participation trophy handouts, to rings for winning a simple weekend tournament, to wanting a coach fired for losing to the top team in the nation. It’s ok to play hard and your best and not win.

I was so engrossed in the process of greeting kids and their families today during check in day 1, and seeing how good of shape our kids are in that I didn’t take 1 photo, not one. Was nice to sit back and watch kids and coaches be together again. Life is good.

So our coaches and most of the varsity are on quarantine. The players who were not required to quarantine offered to coach the 9th grade team so those kids could keep playing. Tonight they showed up like this for their first game. I think we’re in pretty good hands.
