The most important piece of career advice: Be the person who can figure it out. You’ll be given tasks you have no idea how to complete. There's nothing more valuable than someone who can just figure it out. Do some work, ask key questions, get it done. People will fight over you.

Big pet peeve: high school athletes calling their coaches by their last name instead of addressing them as Coach: Example: "He Smith, instead of saying Hey, Coach Smith." A sign of disrespect. Just my opinion.

I keep hearing former NFL players saying that it is not unusual for 2nd team qb to not get reps with 1's at pratice. The most dangerous phrase in our language is, "This is the way we have always done it." Week in and week out you see these injuries. Forward Thinking!!

Stop waiting on a D1 offer that may never come. Do not sleep on NAIA, D3, or D2 programs. There are great coaches and opportunities at each level. If you wait too long for something that may not happen, you might miss an opportunity on a school that wanted you. Don’t be ignorant.
