Regardless of where you’re coming from, I want to challenge us to reimagine what’s possible—and tell a new story. One that begins w/ local news collapse but comes w/ a unique opportunity to bring something emergent and hugely impactful into being. You have a role to play:

The #LocalNewsRoadmap lays out 4 recs to scale this field: 1⃣ Coordinate around expanding civic info, not saving the news business 2⃣ Directly invest in the production of civic info 3⃣ Invest in shared services & peer-led networks 4⃣ Pass public policies to expand civic info

We won’t emerge from this by “saving” the old system. We need to accelerate the transition to a new system centered on community info needs & news products that help people act & solve local issues A participatory public good that's worth investing in. Yes, I made a chart 🤖
