Time to remind people that if you remove atmospheric CO₂ via CDR, the ocean and land will outgas and equilibrate with the new atmosphere. So, for example, you’d have to remove two billion tonnes of CO₂ from the atmosphere to achieve a reduction of one billion tonnes.

@fuckyouiquit As a non-American, I have basically categorised the whole country as a land with laws but not rights. Every time I hear about it, it's because a basic human right for the rest of the world was violated and it's just treated as normal.

A meaningful life is not about material gain, power or fame; these are only of passing value. True meaning comes from an inner sense of peace and contentment, which in turn must be based on a sense of caring and love for others.

I'm hearing some media discuss VP Harris's Guatemala trip as an effort to get to the "roots" of migration. That's important. But of course, poverty & corruption are not roots, they are fruits of deeper phenomena including a long history of U.S. Intervention in Guatemala.

This is really disturbing - sometimes pushing an algorithm is not the same as deploying an update, and more and more we need to consider "should we do this" with AI not just "can we do this"?
