Racism always does harm. It doesn't matter what the intention was. Like all oppression, it doesn't require intent. People often aren't conscious of their racism. But it's there. And becoming aware of it is the first step. 1/6

Anti-facist protests are not “a waste” because the facists didn’t show up. You’re not protesting for the facists. You’re protesting for the people who are immigrants, refugees, Muslim, Asian, Black, brown, queer.

9 white people + an Asian does not a global panel make. By having a panel that looks like this and calling it “Global”, you are saying that the rest of the world has nothing of interest to say.

I'm not saying @jk_rowling is a male. I'm just saying we have zero proof that she's not a male. And until we see her chromosomes, can she be trusted in women's spaces?

What can we learn from the #ImaneKhelif case? 1. The gender binary is inherently unstable. 2. Human bodies are extremely diverse. 3. Black/brown athletes face immense racism. 4. Transphobia has reached absurd heights. 5. Many hearts will bleed for a crying white woman.

I wrote this because I couldn't think of anywhere were we are talking about why these things matter in our industry, but if I've missed something, please let me know!
