At @CUNY, all students need to use CUNY First to register for classes. Institutions can use a similar approach to drop surveys as a pop-up that are mandatory. @MonroeCC has done amazing work to collect student parent data as well. Learn more here:

Advocates should not judge #StudentParents๐ŸŽ“ based on needs or their past. At @CUNY_Fatherhood, we work with students who have experienced incarceration and who have been absent. Our focus is to help them pick themselves up and reconnect with their kids if needed.

The best people with knowledge of resources on campus are students. David Speal with @CUNY_Fatherhood helped connect students to helpful government programs, and as a student, I was aware of the opportunities and resources at @LaGuardiaCC.

If professors can do a combination of asynchronous and synchronous learning to help #StudentParents๐ŸŽ“ with time, it would be really helpful. You donโ€™t know how many times I wanted to quit, but my professors were super flexible with deadlines which helped me graduate!!
