at my last job (in a healthcare setting) i had to use my rollator one day, which had no effect on my ability to do my job, one of my coworkers accidentally sent me a text meant for her husband “OMG (my name) came in using a walker. todays gonna be a long day”.

…workplaces absolutely do not affirm any sort of disability based on self diagnosis. workplaces require medical documentation and sometimes people provide it and still do not get accommodations.
@WorkPsychol Young adults are self diagnosing based on TikTok videos. Workplaces affirm it without a medical diagnosis and they get special treatment such as laptops and altered working hours. It’s fashionable to have a neurodivergent label, which harms those who genuinely have autism/ADHD.

holy shit. imagine saying condoms shouldnt be part of HIV/AIDS advocacy because “people don’t like condoms”.
Bringing masks into long covid advocacy is a huge mistake I think. People don't like covid restrictions and making them a condition of caring about long covid they'll prefer not to care.

dude… the live action ariel’s hair is more red than yours. if ariel was played by a white lady, her hair would still be that color- which is RED. you are just mad that the actress isn’t a white lady.
@MrAndyNgo As a redhead I loved Ariel growing up. She was always my favorite. I am sad they changed my childhood favorite princess because of the new woke religion. In the grand scheme of things that Disney is doing that is morally wrong, this doesn’t even hit the list. I am still sad about.

when i told my family i was diagnosed with EDS, both of my sisters were like “um that’s normal, you’re not special” and showing me their hyperextended limbs and i was like “it’s genetic you absolute walnuts”.
“have you considered that your heart rate jumping 40+ BPM after very minimal activity is normal because it happens to me too??” okay, first of all, you sound like my mother. secondly, please look into POTS.

the postal worker attacked her and was beating her and calling her slurs, she warned him to stop, and then she defended herself against the man who was physically and verbally attacking her. that is self defense.

yeah, i worked in a bakery in 2020 where it was a city requirement to wear a mask, it usually wasn’t worth calling people on it because y’all would get belligerent and yell at us, and we did not get paid enough to get screamed at by unmasked customers about masks every day.
@broadwaybabyto I lived through it. I wore masks made out of gauze. No one ever called me on it. So I knew it was virtue signaling and compliance, not public health.

i just hate this a lot. as a person with a psychology degree. the resilience and post-traumatic growth can’t really happen when people are literally still in crisis. the pandemic is not over. the crisis is not over.
Mental health has become its own pandemic during Covid, with soaring rates of anxiety, depression and burnout. Psychologists say both resilience and the ability to grow from adversity can be cultivated. Here are four ways to get started.

they think SITTING AT WORK is the reason?? instead of the very obvious reasons that have nothing to do with sitting at work?? .its so over.
Had dinner with a friend last night who is a scientist & does a lot of medical research. Biggest trend her team has been tracking lately?. Average age of cancer onset for various types is getting lower. Some used to be >55 and are now <40. Massive uptick in colorectal cancers.
