The most important part of our city don’t even have footpaths! How is anyone supposed to walk safely here? Where is the basic infrastructure? Pedestrians are treated like an afterthought while vehicles rule the roads. This is unacceptable! 📍PSG Tech, Avinashi Road #KovaiInfra

I see that removing the BRT lanes solved all of the traffic problems on Delhi's Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg.

A few areas in need of improvement: ◾ Incorporate universal access through ramps or tabletop crossings ◾ Add midblock crossings with signals or traffic calming ◾ Develop wider cycle tracks with smooth paving ◾ Pedestrianise Church Street!

Bengaluru has made significant strides in developing high-quality footpaths: ✅ Good construction detailing, including seamless surfacing of utility boxes ✅ Uniform walkway level at property entrances ✅ Bollards to keep cars off walkways ✅ Preservation of existing trees

Bengaluru’s Namma Metro has a large horizontal and vertical boarding gap. I see that @OfficialBMRCL has installed rubber strips at the door positions to help address the problem, but I hope the agency can incorporate level boarding from the start on future corridors.

I’m still getting thrown off by the new position of the iPhone camera shutter button. I’ve missed several good shots because of this. 😭

Delhi’s countdown timers are great for cyclists. You can put in a little more effort to make it through a green or take your time if you see the light is going to be red for a while.

This is the same city that started demolishing its BRT corridor? “This around 11.5 km-long BRTS Corridor is one of the few profitable routes that generates a profit of around Rs 7 lakh for AICTSL through ticket sales and advertisements.” https://t.co/9SN4XOfYj9

Indore: Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC), a day after Jabalpur High Court's order to remove Indore's Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS), decided to sta.
🚨 Indore Metro has lost 97% of its riders since launch. Now it’s spending more on electricity bills than it earns from passengers. > No surprise when it runs from one deserted area to another. Ridership will only rise once it’s fully operational.

Hope the designs include cycle tracks and provision for BRT, in line with the Kigali Master Plan 2050. https://t.co/8nwkpdTiI3

Joburg needs a multipronged approach to improve conditions for pedestrians: ✅Update zoning rules to allow compact, mixed-use development ✅Encourage active facades in place of compound walls ✅Build complete streets ✅Enhance security in high-risk areas https://t.co/wFyrEP9xLC

Hardly any footpaths in the city are wheelchair-friendly. This is yet another example .
