The current state of widely-adopted tech is a result of an advertising-funded internet, driven by a combination of digitised versions of industrial-era concepts, plus the new attention economy. It is foolish to assume that it will fit on natively-digital crowdfunded foundations.

It is naïve to believe that the current state of widely-adopted technology is as good as it can be, or that any of it is worth replicating on top of p2p infrastructure. A system designed for us to connect to each other is radically different from one involving a central hub.

It is worth remembering that the current state of widely-adopted technology is the result of an arbitrary set of decisions taken by a finite set of permissioned humans. It is only one of (literally) infinite possible states of things.

8/ EIP-7825: Transaction gas-limit cap Today, a single transaction can use an entire block's gas. This EIP caps any single transaction to ~16.7M gas. This is a low-hanging fruit to improve Ethereum's resilience against DoS (spam) attacks.

This is such a negative take. Scooters are typically a nuisance because they are static and disorganised. Robots are dynamic, like people. It will take a real cynic to interfere with operations. @iamcais would you prefer humans to remain enslaved in repetitive work forever?

I use very few applications on my laptop. I access most apps via a web browser. Apps can register service workers to send push notifications. Cameras, mics, and other hardware can easily be made accessible to web apps. Many web apps are "installable" as progressive web

Hey @ZKPassport I love the intent behind your service. But it appears that your app requires an Android device to be attested to by Google Play in order to function properly, which installations of @GrapheneOS do not satisfy. Are you aware of any workaround for this situation?

A tone deaf comment if ever I saw one. If anywhere can be deemed a central point of control / failure / censorship in the world it's the USA. Why would a project that aims to decentralise want to concentrate any energy there? It just doesn't make any sense.
can't help but feel like the EF simply hates the west, 3 years of devcons without even a nod to north america or europe?
