Again, I am begging my fellow African researchers & their administrators to send *calendar invitations* for virtual meetings. Simply emailing a link is woefully inadequate. Everyone is busy & calendars are extremely key for organization. Still emailing links in big 2025?! Haba!

I’ve learnt that as an adult, the one thing you should possess dearly is INTENTION. You have to be intentional about building relationships, routines, showing up & most importantly, be intentional about creating time to REST. There will always be something that wants your time.

30 minutes ago my son announced that he’s going to learn how to start a fire and walked out of the house. There’s a fire running on the braai stand right now and I’ve asked him if he wants to barbecue boerewors for lunch 😅

Listening to a talk about Chemsex and I’m so thrilled to hear the speaker highlight that “sex is fun”. It’s disappointing how this rarely comes up in the discourse about our work. We focus on STIs and HIV but not within the context that sex is fun!

For my birthday this year, I’m celebrating another year of life by trying to help improve the quality of life of vulnerable pregnant women. I’ve partnered with an organization called Mother’s Comfort. They support vulnerable pregnant women who often can’t afford antenatal care.

My “best friend” got married a couple months ago. I was not invited, and can only guess why. I found out shortly after it happened, but I didn’t say anything. Over these past months, we’ve talk at least weekly. Nothing was ever said. Today I finally blocked her on everything. 16
