it was so damaging early in my transition to try to hang out with “the good ones” who said things like trans women cant have a period. trans women can have hormonal cycles that resemble a menstrual cycle. we should all be afforded the opportunity to understand our own bodies

navigating the world as a trans woman teaches you that hypervigilance is both horribly unpleasant, and necessary for survival. i can’t stress enough how true it is that governmental transphobia only makes that hypervigilance MORE important. it’s just so so tiring :(
