Nigel Jones, Liberal Democrat MP for Cheltenham, UK, is attacked by a madman with a samurai sword. Andrew Pennington, a colleague, places himself between Jones and his assailant, but he is fatally stabbed and dies. Jones is admitted to the hospital with minor wounds.
