It is a sickening feeling to know that the American president and vice president are the "bad guys," indeed the thugs, and the visiting head of state is the "good guy." Trump and Vance are horrible people.

What TikTokers get wrong in their viral 'history' videos: 'Healthy' and 'modern' people during the Black Death, the wrong kind of eruption at Pompeii and 'absurd' WWI uniforms in the trenches Thanks to @GerMilHistory, @chattyplatty and @arakeys

On the third anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine, our capital stands in solidarity with the people of Ukraine who continue to endure unimaginable loss & suffering. London is home to tens of thousands of Ukrainians—we’re grateful for their incredible contribution to our city.

The president’s napoleonic quip about “he who saves his country doesn’t violate any laws” goes back ultimately to Cicero (“salus publica” in De Legibus) and to the conflicts of 63 BC for which Cicero was exiled. Not a great pedigree.
