@CsTominaga @CalvinAyre @rogerkver @gavinandresen @BBC @RoryCellan @PeterMcCormack Turns out he was lying the whole time (chocking, I know). He lied to his friends, to his followers, to his business partners, even to his family. Turns out he got caught and he had nothing. There’s so much more to this story, @netflix needs a whole #trainwreck series on this.

@CsTominaga @CalvinAyre @rogerkver @gavinandresen @BBC @RoryCellan @PeterMcCormack After saying for so long that he would only show his proof in a court of law, Craig got busted providing entire fabrications and even submitting mid-trial back-dated and manipulated evidence and emails, playing his lawyers against each other, even throwing his wife under the bus.

@CsTominaga @CalvinAyre @rogerkver @gavinandresen @BBC @RoryCellan @PeterMcCormack Post-trial, the court issues civil-restraint orders; Wright later gets a one-year suspended sentence + £145k fine for contempt after filing yet more suits. By 2025 Wright has lost or withdrawn >100 cases worldwide. No court has accepted he’s Satoshi; several call him a forger.

@CsTominaga @CalvinAyre @rogerkver @gavinandresen @BBC @RoryCellan @PeterMcCormack In COPA v Wright (2024): a 6-week UK “identity trial.” Justice Mellor concludes: Wright’s evidence “intentionally false,” forgeries spanned years, “all in service of his biggest lie.” He was NOT #SatoshiNakamoto. Definitively.

@CsTominaga @CalvinAyre @rogerkver @gavinandresen @BBC @RoryCellan @PeterMcCormack Well the lies and lawsuits were getting so ridiculous that an association formed and an “identity trial” was set where #CSW could finally reveal his credit card order for the domain and others since he always daid he would prove it in court. Welcome to law.

@CsTominaga @CalvinAyre @rogerkver @gavinandresen @BBC @RoryCellan @PeterMcCormack Court emails show Wright locked that fake “1Feex” wallet in a Singapore vault to secure Calvin Ayre’s cash. Forensics later flagged the PDF & “purchase order” as back-dated; the Russian exchange he named didn’t even sell BTC then. Oopsie @CsTominaga.

@CsTominaga @CalvinAyre @rogerkver @gavinandresen @BBC @RoryCellan @PeterMcCormack You see, he needed more money from Calvin but Calvin needed some collateral to keep footing the bill. That’s when Craig came up with a blatantly false paper wallet, allegedly holding the keys to the 1Feex address, which was really from the mtgox hack.

Craig Wright claims that the $2.2 billion-valued 1Feex Bitcoin wallet is locked in a Singapore bank vault, and his benefactors have the keys.

@CsTominaga @CalvinAyre @rogerkver @gavinandresen @BBC @RoryCellan @PeterMcCormack When pressed in 2022 testimony, Wright claims he “stomped on a hard drive” holding those keys. Proof literally smashed. So, which one is it? First the trust, then the courier, then he stomped on a hard drive. And still no keys. And now, he needed to have more BTC, in comes 1feex.

@CsTominaga @CalvinAyre @rogerkver @gavinandresen @BBC @RoryCellan @PeterMcCormack Then there was the infamous “Tulip Trust”: Wright claims 1.1 M BTC are locked in a blind trust; a mysterious bonded courier will deliver the keys. Deadline after deadline passes and nothing. To this day, this is so laughable. Ridiculous. But it fooled Calvin, and bought him time.

@CsTominaga @CalvinAyre By then the entire #Bitcoin community started questioning Craig’s claims, including @rogerkver and others. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof and time after time Craig failed to deliver any evidence to support his claims. That’s when it went from a scam to a fraud.

@CsTominaga @CalvinAyre But now Calvin was in and Craig had an apparently unlimited amount of money to continue pushing his fraudulent claims. That’s when landmark memes such as “I have more money than your country” started coming out. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t.
