As good an AI strategy as you’ll find. Acknowledging strengths AND weaknesses. Trusting but verifying output. Also raising important concerns re centralization and data harvesting.

4/4. Competition is good. Competition brings out the best in people. But you can compete without being an asshole.

3/4. I see the world as a perpetual struggle over finite resources, be it money, land, water, energy or market share. This requires a clear view of the field, understanding your competition and refusing to back down when challenged.

2/4. A new study shows that how we perceive ‘antagonistic’ government/business leaders depends on whether we see the world as a competitive jungle or as a more cooperative and benign environment. Like most things, I suspect the situation isn’t always that binary.

1/4. Thieves think everybody steals, and those with a competitive worldview tend to view tough competitors more favorably.

Profile in my former hometown newspaper brought back some fun memories. Wish I still had that ’69 Chevy pickup. But glad I still have the ‘swash buckling’ attitude it took to load a rented U-haul with fresh fruit and drive it solo to Saskatchewan for my first business.

5/5 Focus too hard on one area and you’ll miss some crucial development occurring somewhere else. Not everyone has the ability to split their focus to this degree, and everyone will be caught completely unaware now and then. Just hopefully not by a guy with nunchucks.

4/5 Entrepreneurs know this look well. Running a business means being hyper aware of all the elements of your operation (stuff you control) as well as external market conditions (stuff you don’t). The latter are constantly changing, in every direction, all at once.

3/5 There’s a moment in this famous scene about 2:45 in, where Bruce is surrounded by dozens of opponents but his eyes are on none of them AND all of them at the same time. (Trivia: the guy Bruce grabs by the hair is a young Jackie Chan.).

2/5 Today’s the anniversary of Bruce Lee’s death in 1973. I saw Enter the Dragon in the theatre and my 12-year-old friends and I spent the rest of that year kicking and chopping each other while imitating Bruce’s high-pitched screams.

4/4 AI is a double-edged sword that can defend as well as it attacks. Don’t be pennywise and pound-foolish. You’re asking customers to trust you with their funds. Show them their trust isn’t misplaced.

3/4 This will cost developers in the short-term but the long-term consequences of doing nothing are far greater. The systems are still buggy but like the old adage says, the attackers only have to be right once, while you have to be right every time.

2/4 It was inevitable that people would use AI to probe for flaws in smart contracts. This type of high-failure-rate repetitive action is tailor-made for AI. But flip this script and you could use AI to identify these same vulnerabilities prior to deploying smart contracts.

1/4 AI agents are exploiting vulnerabilities in smart contract code to steal digital assets, but what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

Another big move. It’s good to see Congress finally gaining critical mass to approve stablecoin rules. The Anti-CBDC push seems a sideshow, given most governments appear to have given up on CBDCs. Regardless, the panic the GENIUS Act has sparked in.
