The owl got its own space to rest and recover while it healed. For scale of how small this owl is, check out this photo of it perched above a window at the rehab facility. This owl weighed just 90 grams, or just more than 3 ounces.

This owl came to us unable to fly. It had a soft tissue injury to its right wing that wasn’t working at all. We took it to our Frisco Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation Center for an exam, and this video shows its inability to use that right wing.

🦉 Going into the weekend on a high note after this wildlife rehab success story! Check out this little owl we rescued near Crestone back on Dec. 21. It’s a Northern Saw-whet owl, one of the smallest owl species found in Colorado.
