Pokemon has multiple products across every category so just imagine what life is like for completionists: Got the card? great...how about the plushie? accessory? the themed bundle? Collectors hate incompleteness more than they hate spending and this is being monetized perfectly

Good sets with quality chase cards hardly die out even if pokemon reprints the hell out of them Hidden Fates, Crown Zenith, and Shining Fates all got reprinted multiple times but chase cards kept the demand high If a set is excellent, reprints are nothing to worry about.

Honestly, PSA is way less transparent than it used to be A βPSA 10β from 2020 doesn't match the grading standard in 2025 Then a card gets a 6 one day and becomes a 9 the next after resubmission. Really makes you wonder.
I actually used to look forward to getting packages from PSA. Used to. Not anymore. Now I hate it.

Everyone's comparing consumer chains right now. My honest take: it's too soon to tell for most of them. Consumer apps need live users paying real money before you know what works. That takes time.
