We are enormously sad to see Amanda step down and wish her every success. We hope her successor will continue to prioritise MH not only to support those waiting for treatment but as part of a wider drive to improve the nation’s mental health
A phenomenally decent, smart, values-driven woman. Very sad news after Amanda has achieved so much through some of the NHS’s toughest times. Resolutely NHS. She will have a great future ahead of her but I hope she has a rest first.

We at Rethink are enormously sad to see Amanda Pritchard step down from her role as NHS CEO and wish her every success. Despite unprecedented challenges she managed to maintain a strategic commitment to mental health and in particular to those who are living with mental illness

Pleased to see the Committee shine a spotlight on community services for adults with severe mental health needs. The inquiry’s findings will be invaluable in identifying what is needed to make the shift from hospital to community and ensure everyone gets the support they need.
We're investigating community mental health services and we want to hear from you 📢 We want to know what you think high-quality care looks like for people with severe mental illness. Tell us here 👉 https://t.co/yBpKGD2TYx

We must all come together to a stop short sighted approach to mental health. Strengthening mental health investment is right for those with mental illness and their families, but also for wider society. Investing in mental health will play a key role in delivering govt’ missions
🚨 Mental health services are already stretched beyond capacity. Yet there are reports that the government may axe vital safeguards for mental health funding. Alongside 17 organisations, we've written to the PM asking to protect funding for services 👇

🧵THREAD We are becoming increasingly concerned about proposed changes to the Work Capability Assessment. We understand that the government needs to make difficult decisions. But these changes would be unequivocally the wrong choice. Here's why 👇

Still early days for this administration and we are awaiting delivery of the step change trailed pre election. However, if this piece is correct, it’s deeply troubling, and the govt needs to restate its commitment to appropriate policy, practice and resources to transform lives

I’m finding the NHS App such a wonderful tool in my interactions with staff whilst an impatient here @GSTTnhs . I hadn’t realised how extensive the data is. It’s been transformative and will help make my discharge better for me and the hospital. Analogue to digital in action!

More people are talking about mental health. But awareness and understanding about mental illness is still so far behind. #LetsRethink

Let’s support people’s goals/needs. Neither write them off or diminish their illness. Employers may reject them based on diagnosis, even though they want to work and have the necessary support. Those who can’t work shouldn’t be forced to or be sanctioned. 1 size doesn’t fit all
I know that skilled nhs and 3rd sector colleagues think carefully about such decisions…when to explore what a person wants, what their goals are, what help they want. When and whether to explore employment, when to advise someone they are too poorly but to bring hope etc.

A crucial step forward is to truly listen to the lived experiences of those deeply affected by mental illness, as well as their loved ones. Let's focus on building a more informed, compassionate society. (5/5)
