i hate to say it, i hope i don't sound ridiculous, i don't know who this man is. i mean he could be walking down the street i wouldn't know a thing. sorry to this man
the way anyone who has ever read the canon books and seen rebels would tell you the most logical place to pick up the story was with thrawn and ezra helping the ascendancy. and we just… didn’t get any of that despite tzahn himself endorsing it
everyday i’m grateful my non-thrawn faves are just book characters bc i’m not sure i could restrain myself if random dudebros ever got their hands on ar’alani and eli the way they have with thrawn and hera
legends thrawn was truly something else. shouting into megaphones, knocking down buildings, drinking on the job, killing people at work, carrying his pet lizard around in a backpack, wasting his last breath to make a joke… just an absolute icon
“it is comforting to know that a friend still graces the universe with his skills, his viewpoint, and his presence. for if one is remembered by a friend, one is never truly gone”
dave filoni: if an idea already exists, i like to use it
also dave: well, you see, there was no legitimate reason thrawn might be away from the main galaxy for so long so i had to overlook a good chunk of canon and create a whole new galaxy to justify his absence instead :)
my favourite anti-chisstwt response so far is the type that assumes we don’t understand thrawn’s possible motivations or accurately comprehend him as a character
love that the ascendancy is described as “an island of calm” and “a bulwark of stability” in the prologue of each book and then the rest of the plot is about how unhinged the chiss can be
