Regardless, one thing that makes $ICP SUPER powerful imho (& still superior) is the SNS.
It doesn't just allow apps to be hosted cheaply on chain, it adds a meta-level of decentralization where the app/code/canister is *OWNED* by a DAO. I assume this is not possible on $NEAR!

This is an important point which I can’t find an answer to.
If you can’t prove a frontend is using an on-chain $NEAR component, then why is it actually useful to have the component on-chain?
A frontend could just mimic a component & a user has no way to verify the difference…
If a frontend uses a Near component/widget to interact with a smart contract, how can a user verify that the frontend they are interacting with is indeed using an actual Near component, and not something that just looks like it (and perhaps is doing something nefarious)?
