Been a while! This beauty is Tetraloniella spissa. This species is oligolectic on Helianthus, or at least that’s what it seems. I collected this single female while on my anniversary trip to Oklahoma, along with a few other really cool bees. Look how square that face is! ⬛️

The beautiful Andrena helianthiformis. This species specializes on Echinacea, usually in decent quality areas, these individuals coming from a prairie in western Arkansas. They are quite large and conspicuous, but were not very abundant unfortunately. Hope I find more next year🤞🏽

Check out this weird Andrena cressonii I found a few weeks ago. Normally the clypeus is almost entirely yellow. Tho, there are a few photos with similarly mottled yellow clypeus.

What started as a student side project became a big scientific endeavor - together with @iochromaland, Leah Maier and Miranda Sinnott-Armstrong, we show that the global distribution of #flower and #fruit colors is linked to temperature and UV-B - https://t.co/tR2uAX2Cjf

The gtsummary package in R makes it easy to create clean, publication-ready summary tables for your data. The tbl_summary() function takes a data set and generates well-organized tables that display key statistics like counts, percentages, means, and medians, which is perfect for

Bees are finally flying! Andrena fenningeri is one of the most abundant in my area right now, being frequently collected on Bradford pear trees. There also happens to be a small aggregation on UArk campus of A. fenningeri with many C. inaequalis intermixed.

Unfortunately only managed to get a male, but during my time in UT this summer I managed to collect a cool Melissodes sp! This is M. exilis isn’t that interesting of a species. Morphologically, the males are cool because they have a mostly black clypeus. Similar to microstictus.

A little busman's holiday of mine is collecting bees of the Caribbean. 3 trips to St. Croix last year. This year 3 trips to St. Thomas. This is Centris smithii a species that was here-to-fore unrecorded for the island. One of 3 Centris that were newly located.
