When the police, prosecutors, and judges aren't doing their jobs, you end up with an extremely low trust society in which a young girl feels like she needs to brandish an ax to protect herself or her friends.

Sending the message “if you’re in America illegally we’ll deport you to Uganda” actually makes a lot of sense if encouraging self-deportation is the goal.
Let’s be clear: deporting Kilmar Abrego Garcia to Uganda makes no sense—it’s not his home country. Nothing about this process has been fair. ICE is targeting him with cruelty. This is the weaponization of government, not justice.
