Brian Mulroney’s leadership had a profound effect on Canada. Free trade, GST, Acid Rain Treaty and opposition to Apartheid. At the time it cost him, but time has proven him a visionary and we benefit from that vision today. Deepest condolences to his family and to all Canadians.

But neither party will offer it, just the same — in part because even if another party did, few would probably vote for it. Why? Because people mostly vote for who can beat the party they detest rather than for a party they like. Tribalism for the win!
