That is why floor crossing should be allowed. It is the only thing that keeps party leaders, which are way too powerful as it is, in check.

What rule would protect the sanctity of representative democracy in this situation? Parties are already far too powerful in our parliamentary system.

Sorry to upset everyone but @themarkhume is correct. Sure, Eby is a muppet, but jobs don't grow on trees that aren't there anymore.

@BradWestPoCo Are BC’s sawmills closing because “those people” want them shut down? Or are they closing because industry & government mismanaged the forests for so long? Massive over harvest & disdain for sustainable logging is what caused the problem, not imagined enemies of the state.

Most news coverage about forestry focuses on what politicians and mill owners say — this story about what foresters say is happening out there is refreshing.

The decline in forestry and the annual allowable cut was forecast decades ago. The AAC in PG, which is set by the chief forester not politicians, is actually higher at 6.9M than projected 25 years ago. BC's mismanagement of forestry goes back a looong time https://t.co/hCI1msuCv8

Forestry built British Columbia. The NDP has spent eight years dismantling it. The allowable cut has dropped by two thirds. Mills are closing, contractors are idle and families are leaving the communities they built. Eby can shout about tariffs, but he’s been the real barrier

The idea that, without news links having access to Facebook, citizens are somehow unable to get emergency information is a Trudeau-era fantasy fueled by reporters that don’t understand how the internet works
