It connects Cape Breton with the mainland.
An engineering achievement when they built & opened the world’s deepest causeway in 1955. There was alot of concern about Fiona & the causeway-but, it passed the test.

Kudos to the hotels in both Antigonish and here in Sydney who stayed open and housed and fed us even when they had no power. Staff was incredible, sometimes working with flashlights.
Power is back on here—but you had hard days of housing everyone and you did it with kindness.

So proud of my Aunt Marie!!
Getting her masters almost a half century after she was forced to leave to help her son (my cousin) David fight a rare disease.
Marie is selfless, fearless and brilliant and at almost 93 still blazing a trail!
From 1969-1975, Marie Jones attended Dalhousie for her Master of Arts degree, but due to family circumstances did not graduate at that time.
Today, 48 years later at the age of 92, we were so pleased to award her a degree during Convocation!
