SLPS absolutely needs a facilities plan that includes selling some of these buildings, reorganizing schools, and building new, modern facilities considering where students live. School districts are geographic entities & should absolutely be planned for in that way.
Staggering figures out of SLPS tonight: Price tag for upkeep on 68 schools estimated at $1.8 billion by 2044. Average age of the schools is close to 90 years old. After decades of declining enrollment the schools are at half capacity. w/ @Kirkman

Visiting Copenhagen always reminds me of just how playful, fun, and beautiful our public spaces can be if we just invest in them! Infrastructure, activated spaces, prioritized bike/ped, and blending old and new architecture — all cannot be beat here in CPH!

It's open! You can now bike from Chouteau & Jefferson to Market & 21st entirely in protected facilities. Finishing work and landscaping are still being completed on the project, but can be ridden today! The 22nd St. roadway connection to Scott Av. is also open:
