I will be impressed when they get all the Almajiri kids into schools, give them a quality education, security, good food and clean clothes. Money in the hands of a few means nothing if the greater society is suffering.

Possibly the first and best thing any African writer living now in the continent can do for themselves is to try as best as possible to keep the rot and murk from incapacitating the zeal to create and be. It’s hella tough, but it’s what must be done.
