Going to be looking into this concept more now that we've had one.
Are there any single purpose pages that have straightforward to read source code for a “consumer” interaction in Web3? A single page to swap between ETH and WBTC via uniswap for example. Could be useful for when the inevitable supply-chain attack happens somewhere big.

Twitter is missing the last part of this. Rather than taking some of the effectively useless new Blue revenue and funding identity verification they’ve destroyed the value of the blue check. Checks have gone from a status symbol to a tax, and people hate taxes.

Smaller networks still fail at the big instict-based Twitter draw "I heard something happened, better look at trending" because of discovery, if you don't know what network that type of thing would be happening on, you have to find it before watching.

and a sub note: I don't think there's a reduction in demand for a platform to be the go-to micro-blogging platform. Could you picture people making updates via TikToks or Instagram posts during an emergency or election?

It will be interesting to see how networks with public graphs vs private graphs continue to diverge over the next year or so.

Twitter used to be a platform where you could join with no network and accrue social capital. Now it's just revenue focused and you can buy status. People will view the blue check with just as much prestige as running around in GTAV with a fancy jacket.. four years after release.

The value of Twitter accounts was social before; having a network to spread ideas to, being able to have a place where you could get instant news on what LeBron or the my pillow guy were doing. The network had social value, then they quantified it into monetary value per account.

But what does Twitter do? It clamps to the lower of those two values. Now you can buy an account that's effectively marked as "clean" and has a blue check for one low price - sure, higher than it was before but way less than it cost to get a blue check.

Theory: Twitter the micro-blogging platform is already dead, we just don't know it yet. In July of last year, there were two prices for accounts: clean bot accounts, and blue check accounts. One of those went for a way higher price on the open market than the other.
