@mathyawp I loved getting to talk about ideas in your book Mathematics for Human Flourishing last night with a few colleagues. The first chapter was very inspiring - a great way to begin our book club. Thank you @carlyalbee @AmandaVleck

My good friend @Zakchamp once told me that "a problem worth doing is a problem worth walking away from." Read his NCTM published article on why it's okay to walk away from a math problem. https://t.co/X61xGpUkYM

These 21st century pattern blocks will certainly put you and your kids in a good mood. By the way, these were a sweet graduation present from my friend and sherpa @meredith4math. She gets me. @Trianglemancsd

Once I heard @steve_leinwand mention “missionary-style triangles.” Today, in #ExaminingFeaturesofShape, I learned from research that kids are naturally drawn to shapes with symmetry, orientation and "equilateralness." Research supported missionary-style triangles.

The idea that one symbol can have many different meanings is implicit in our base ten number system. A 2 can represent 2, 20, 200, 2/10 or 2/100... #mtholyokemath
