Pleased to see Risk Outside of the Home (ROTH) Child protection pathways reference in this document Over the last year we've noticed an increasing proportion of young people impacted by serious violence being supported via ROTH pathway plans Lots done. Lots to do.
We have today published a joint report with @CareQualityComm @HMICFRS and @HMIProbation finding that serious youth violence is more far reaching than many realise, affecting children all over England and leaving a serious impact on communities: https://t.co/JvWPKkYfaS

💯 this whole 🧵 All day I've tried to think of another example where someone was killed, the person who killed them was found not guilty of their murder, and in response the police release footage of the victim to in some way justfiy or explain why they were killed Just wild
At this point people just need to be honest and say that Chris Kaba deserved to be s*ot in the head by the police because he was in gang. No if’s buts or maybes. He had what was coming to him, right? Live by the g*n, die by the g*n, yeah? Here’s the problem with this perspective:

I can't even speak on this app because the amount of people arguing in "civilised" Britain, that Chris K*ba deserved to be shot dead for trying to drive away from police is wild to me. El*n's X is a cesspool of the worst of humanity right now. My time here is very limited.

The second in our new mini series on tech and sexual violence for @BeyondSlavery . In this hard-hitting piece, survivor Eunice-Esther Mejiadeu calls to stop treating online grooming as tech wizardry and to re-centre children’s unmet social needs.
No amount of surveillance will stop groomers from exploiting vulnerable lonely kids on the internet. From the perspective of someone who lived through it ⬇️ https://t.co/aeU9YrlVKK

A week on from the @VP_Centre event & I keep thinking that: 1. @RutterNik work is outstanding 2. An issue like 'vulnerability' requires needs-focused partnerships (that the police do not lead) not problem-focused policing Too much harm is done in the name of protection
