Today, I was joined by the director of #MrBatesVsThePostOffice James Strong to pose his questions to the Govt. The victims of the Post Office Horizon scandal must have their convictions quashed and receive full compensation ASAP. The Govt must hold those responsible to account

Wish people wd stop saying gloomily that it took Tv to get the subpostmasters to the top of the agenda. This is (as Libby Purves has said I think) the real power of arts and drama (expertise that is being starved of funding) Message is: we need to fund the arts.

It is truly awful how badly freelancers are treated by the media organisations they work for. I'm so sorry.

So important that @AngelaRayner mentionned how the #SureStart initiative helped her as a new mum, on @lorraine today. It helped me immensely with my 1st child and I worry for new parents who do not have that support today as it's since been scrapped ❤️ @lorraine #lorraine

If broadcasters genuinely want to address this, they have to have clearer commissioning targets, a willingness to hire under-represented talent and commit to a structure that supports career progression. Transparent data reporting is key to holding the broadcasters to account.

Almost every TV/Film freelancer I know is currently out of work right now. The UK business is collapsing and no-one is really talking about it...
