Gliding is both beautiful & exciting. Nothing can quite match the thrill of flying silently, giving you a birds-eye view over the countryside of Cambridgeshire.

Great to see Astronaut Tim Peake enjoying a training flight in the BGA glider simulator at RIAT under the instruction of glider pilots Lucy Clark (back seat) and Maddi Roberts! @Flyer_Magazine @pilot_mag @APPG_GA @CharlotteV

Interesting to see the potential difficulties that ADS-B could be for Pilots, if the @UK_CAA and @EASA don't work together to ensure complete interoperability.

@BritishGliding Another piece of Class G lost without mitigation by the proposer. The mid-air collision risk is probably just gliders so why couldn't they at least mitigate drone/glider collision by fitting #FLARM so we could 'sense & avoid' when field landing @Airspace4All @cambridgeglide

That’s a great shame. We’ve really have integrated our operations with them but news of a relocation has been going on for decades so maybe not the end of the road (runway!) yet.

Good to see @EASA approving #FLARM for use in helicopters. Another reason why the @UK_CAA must move towards true interoperability! https://t.co/piD5rOqwuR

Missed this weeks #WeatherWordWednesday After having the #Equilux this week and the #Equinox today, the majority of people that suffer from this will find the coming months easier as the days get longer #InternationalDayOfHappiness 😃

The UK Civil Aviation Authority is calling for evidence over Electronic Conspicuity (EC). EC is one of the most important airspace modernisation initiatives, with all airspace users detected electronically to improve safety. Find out more: https://t.co/dKwto6X7ZV. #Aviation

Good to hear about @City_Airport ADS-B trial with @caa & @uavionix. We look forward to results. Many small aircraft use technologies (including #FLARM, #PilotAware & Mode S/3D with bearings), so interoperability is key to Electronic Conspicuity success! https://t.co/UIUBm8JZP8

That’s perhaps a long term aspiration but short term we just need agreement for low level and low density airspace.
