I've learnt some new words. And I thank my Google pixel for this lovely feature—being able to Google a word without leaving the screen. Couldn't do it on my Redmi for some reason. Agree with some parts of this, and sorta disagree with others.

When I talk to younger writers about books, the perception is that contemporary books are for Colleen Hoover, romantasy & crime. And not a lot else. That's not true, but it does dominate a lot of social media discussion... Which sort of makes the rest make sense?
I’ve interviewed a lot of young people this past week hoping to get into publishing. The shock wasn’t how many used ChatGPT for their applications (though… wow), but how few actually read contemporary books.
