Touching down in Baltimore after being in another country is always so damn emotional and I don't even know what this feeling is.

Of course I knew Nancy Pelosi's father Thomas D'alesandro was mayor of Baltimore but I somehow didn't know her brother was mayor too. Listening to her book now and it's good so far. Stop political violence!

Today at the planning commission hearing I shared a story with @BmoreCityDOT to illustrate the urgent need for traffic calming in our communities. Here's the video of the incident I described. I was encouraged by the new director's commitment to these issues.

Most people don't know the history behind this old landmark or new park. Thanks to @bmoreheritage for this amazing 5 minute history video! https://t.co/s6LsfhHOU1

We celebrated our 5 uear anniversary last night at Puerto 511, a Peruvian BYOB in a part of town that should have a lot more excellent restaurants. 10/10 highly recommend.

We officially cut the ribbon today on a project that I started working on more than 8 years ago. We couldn't have done it without support from @ParksandPeople.

And today I'm on a United flight into Newark. It's chilling.

23 years ago I was a senior in high school. On this day I cut class to go to Sam Goody at the Bridgewater mall so I could buy the new Jay Z CD before it sold out. Then I drove to the highest hill in my town and watched the smoke rise from the horizon. I'll never forget that.
