Take the overseas assignment. Get a mentor who would give me useful feedback. Sell or raise into the growth. Move slower, strike harder. Ask more questions.

If you were able to go back in time and start your career all over again, what lessons that have you learned would you apply to your new career? What would you do or not do based on what you have seen?

Entrepreneurship is an amazing experience. But building a team and shaping the direction of a section of a company, or a whole company, can also be a rewarding journey. TL;DR: Get paid. There are a lot of ways to get paid. 2/2

A lot of folks read this as “so go start a company”. In the words of Busta Rhymes “this rap 💩was not designed for every swollen muffin.” I ran a company for 16 years. We were successful. I never made market. Now I make a lot more with less stress in corporate. 1/2

Ohh! It’s the For You that’s trash. I have to go through it for my weekly bot cull but the following page is much more like the Twitter I remember. (Are you allowed to say the T word?)

BLACK PEOPLE PAID FOR WHITE PEOPLE'S STUFF. They paid taxes for fire departments and GI bills and federal subsidies and a good public education system and WHITE PEOPLE GOT IT. No one cares about how white people FEEL about Black people. We want our STUFF

You remember when you were a kid and someone in your friend group insisted on being called Laser but everybody just calls him Mikey? That’s kind of like what’s happening here.

It's almost as if workers have the power to bring capitalism to a screeching halt by withholding their labour 🧐🤔🤯

A 10-day UPS strike would cost the economy more than $7 billion and be the costliest work stoppage in at least a century, according to a new study by Anderson Economic Group, which researches labor disruptions.

This smooth jazz version of Ginuwine’s “Pony” is making me feel very much like I’m in a waiting room. I mean, I am at the dentist in a waiting room, but the vibe is very real.

They’re talking about eclipses. I saw the total eclipse in umm, 2019? in South Carolina. That was stunning, and it’s actually worth a trip to see one if you can.

It’s a good show for people who like space but are intimidated by the math or the vastness. Or people who used to want to be astrophysicists and loved this stuff but forgot about most of it when they went into computers. Umm. . . whoever they are.

“uncanny valley” of scary is an interesting idea. Not scary enough to be obviously dangerous and somehow more scary because of that.

I’ve always loved the four forces. I once wrote a homily about how the four forces are like our relationships and gravity is like love: it is the weakest but it acts over infinite distance and holds everything together.

I think whoever figures out what was before the Big Bang should get $566, like the girl who discovered Pluto.

It was really kind of @GoAstroMo before she started talking about the Big Bang to assuage potential cosmology-induced existential dread. I don’t experience that often, but I imagine that it happens to many people.
