One of the problems with crafting a dual use startup economy is that peace-time use of tech is likely less lucrative / good for extraordinary valuations than war-time uses of the tech. This jeopardises the possibility for peace and global stability.

Do put 50mins aside to listen to @VisualisingWar podcast interview with @berylpong (‘New Perspectives on WarTIME with Beryl Pong’). Drawing upon research into war temporalities the conversation weaves its way into the effects of drones in war, and peace.

I was recently on the @VisualisingWar podcast, where we talked about all things related to war & time, from WW1 to drone wars. Thank you, Alice, for such a thought-provoking discussion, especially in light of news about today's 'droneophobia'. https://t.co/Cg70UqMit9

As technology transforms the war in Ukraine, soldiers are experiencing a new form of trauma: "Droneophobia".

‘Magic Intelligence: Mapped’ 2025. My 3rd painting stimulated by Sam Altman’s comment, in a chat with Jony Ive 21/5/25, that ‘we now have magic intelligence in the cloud’. AI is not magic and ‘The Cloud’ is not vaporous.

Very happy to see my invited article for Nature is out in the new issue. I wrote about computer vision, the AI surveillance industrial complex, and brilliant new research that shows how deeply embedded the computer vision field is in the surveillance pipeline.
