My last US conference before the pandemic was Code4Lib in Pittsburg in March 2020. It’s really pleasing to be back here again for the first post-pandemic one with #LPForum22.

It’s great to see this happening in comparison to the UK where library closures under ‘austerity’ are depressingly frequent.

Highly commendable, and more journals should consider following the CARE Principles for Indigenous Data Governance
The Data Science Journal will not publish anything about Indigenous peoples without the engagement of Indigenous peoples. @gidaglobal @codatanews @IndigenousKM @resdatall #openscience #datasciencej.

This does seem very problematic behaviour for a European publisher in the context of GDPR. Even if it weren’t, at a minimum you should treat your customers and their privacy with respect.
New blog in which @robinnkok & I describe what data Elsevier collects, & what to do about it. Teaser: private phone numbers, IP addresses, what papers you read & when, what actions you perform in Mendeley & when, which emails you read, and much more.

Nice improvement - a more efficient peer review process and much better author experience overall!.
Annoyed by slow reviews? @SwissPsyOpen introduces option for scheduled reviews for all articles types: Thanks @julien__mayor for suggesting it. The idea was introduced earlier for @PCI_RegReports by @chrisdc77, @ubiquitypress
