This is a very real feeling. As someone that grew up on government assistance in single parent household I can say I’ve felt this at various phases in life (undergrad, grad school, and professionally). But always been motivation work harder.
Imposter syndrome is very real. No matter how successful I am, I often feel like I don’t deserve it and I need to try harder and do better. I’m my own worst enemy and I have to constantly remind myself of that. I battle this by patting myself on the back.

Scary thought that most investors + founders haven’t experienced a downturn...hire burn rates, unlimited capital, and guaranteed future financings are likely to go down as an anomaly rather than the norm.
It is so difficult to time a downturn, and many founders have not seen one before. The only “prep” a company can undergo is to focus on their burn rate. In previous cycles those that learned to thrive on scarce amounts of capital reaped huge rewards on the other side
