Great example of “LLM speak” here: {insert topic} is not X, but Y”.

“Proved” … anti LLM content is starting to be more hyperbolic than LLM content
BREAKING: Apple just proved AI "reasoning" models like Claude, DeepSeek-R1, and o3-mini don't actually reason at all. They just memorize patterns really well. Here's what Apple discovered: (hint: we're not as close to AGI as the hype suggests)

Many responses saying gamma to this, but in my experience with seeing other faculty and students make gamma slide decks: (1) they all look the same, and (2) they are cheap looking and generally worse. Also, the experience is not cursor like at all. Not vibe coding like.
Making slides manually feels especially painful now that you know Cursor for slides should exist but doesn’t.

Current AI paradox: people underestimate how powerful it’ll be, but they also wildly overestimate how easy it currently is. That AI-generated video might taken days of piecing together small clips. That “one-click” analysis might’ve required hours of coding

Clearly AMC's problem is marketing and messaging because they literally already have a version of this
Movie industry is fucking clueless make a $19 a month, all you can watch, +$10 for each kid and $49 for a family of 5 — watch the money pour in! Movies would be HUGE if you made it season pass it like ski industry did with epic pass Show old movies too for bonus points..

Apple’s failure to ship a single useful AI feature (despite having a lot of talent) is looking even more risky for the company as other AI labs optimized their models over time. Will people really be willing to shift from their favorite AI app to watered-down Siri at this point?

Random card I found in my end table. Kobe Bryant NBA 2k17 NBA Hoops. I think it had been sitting in there for 7 years and funny enough it got a PSA 10. This was my all time favorite video game and this card came with the Kobe Bryant limited edition version of the game.

relevant as I do zoom interviews for students soon as well as faculty….but again it doesn’t seem like academics know about any of this
