Today, the Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now. or will shortly. A combination of dry thunderstorms, strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

We have a red flag warning in effect tomorrow. Fires can start from the smallest ignition source, so make sure that you are using spark arresting equipment, not having open burns, and avoiding other fire starting behavior. Wildfire season is anytime it’s hot, dry, and windy.

The City of Boulder reminds you that we have YEAR-LONG fire restrictions that prohibit all fireworks, open burning, and other risky fire behavior. While you continue to abide by city fire regulations, note that Boulder County has recently put into effect additional fire.

First responders pulled an unresponsive man from the Boulder Creek and administered CPR before transporting him to Boulder Community Hospital on July 4. He died at the hospital the evening of July 7.
