Sheriff’s deputies currently dealing with a traffic stop on Coalton Rd, between McCaslin and Indiana in the Town of Superior. Deputies have those intersections closed and asking people to stay out of the area.

You may see smoke in the foothills from a small fire near Canyon Pines Drive near Highway 93/72. We are aware of the fire and firefighters with Coal Creek FPD and Arvada Fire are responding. It sounds like already they have good containment on the fire.

TRAFFIC TIP: WE ARE OUT THERE. Deputy Stofcho had a productive week reminding drivers that traffic laws are not optional. Two separate drivers were clocked going over 70 miles per hour in a clearly posted 45 mph zone on N. 119th Street near Quail Road. Both received tickets.
