it depends which kind of advice you’re getting. If it’s about where the world is heading at, mostly its irrelevant. But if if its regarding the values&principles that can stand the test of time for years to come then its definitely valid.
Take advice from older people with a grain of salt. The world they grew up in no longer exists. Their experience was near identical to the generation before them: Work hard, get a job, trust the system. This world is gone. They are set in their ways and are past the point of
