They've got this all backwards. Twitter isn't providing value to these tools as much as these tools provide value to Twitter. They're just giving people more reasons to leave.
Starting February 9, we will no longer support free access to the Twitter API, both v2 and v1.1. A paid basic tier will be available instead 🧵.

RIP Twitterrific and Tweetbot.
Welp. I have mostly moved over to a Mastodon instance. Twitter killing @tweetbot and @Twitterrific kind of ruined the experience for me. I will miss a few peeps over here, but fortunately it looks like a lot of my follows have already migrated as well.
