Got to say, GREAT energy for a Saturday afternoon game. Rootstown with its highest point total since Jan. 30, 2024. The Rovers had FIVE players in double figures: Caleb Fillmore (25), Ethan White (16), Blake Mullaly (13), Dean Abdlrasul (12) and Carson Hayn (11).

The Portage Sports and Jack Kohl Realty Player of the Game on Friday was Rootstown junior Blake Mullaly, who scored 25 points to lead the Rovers to a 75-34 victory over Cardinal. Mullaly connected on 10-of-15 FGs, including three 3s, and also had eight rebounds and four assists.

Did so much more than stats can tell. New offense to learn. He had checks at the LOS, Pre-Snap RPO’s, shifts/motions to manage, and challenging terminology. First 5 game he did not play in the second half. Took care of the ball. Most importantly was a JOY to coach everyday!
