On one hand it’s cool that politics is realigning between everything true, good, just, and beautiful. Vs everything false, bad, immoral, and ugly. OTOH it’s bad coz the former is going to lose. Winning coalitions require retaining some of the rabble

The VRA, like other civil rights legislation, was written in a biracial, "piano key" America. There was white, and there was black. Some latinx near the border, a few Chinatowns in big cities, but basically just two. A lot of it just doesn't work in a modern ethnic landscape.
