Writing’s been on the wall for a while, but it does look like one of the most probable scenarios for the US is ~15-30 years of entrenched, unaccountable minority-party rule. Everything just gets steadily worse until some exogenous shock produces enough discontent to shake it up

@technicalob @hecubian_devil As long as California and New York are the standard bearers for the left, they will continue to have an implicit disadvantage

@ForsakenCrown @hecubian_devil they have decent situations in the northeast like, say, vermont and maryland, but they are "culturally" insignificant in the national narrative and small anyway

@technicalob @hecubian_devil The political platform that gets votes is completely and utterly retarded and nation destroying

@technicalob @hecubian_devil Maybe in a world where 1/3 of voters aren't directly programmed by Fox News, sure. When you need to get 3/4ths of everyone with a functioning brain for a majority that makes coalition management extremely difficult.

@technicalob @hecubian_devil they already did that and you all just ignored that their position changed and in fact it ended up costing them votes because it raised the salience of the issue.

@technicalob @hecubian_devil Democrats in this country get shit on by both sides if you haven’t noticed. Not sure what they’re supposed to do about that

@technicalob @hecubian_devil We got the most votes in American history in 2020 and lost by the smallest margin in nearly 50 years in 2024. Maybe if a certain group of wreckers would spend less time attacking Democrats and more time attacking the fascists, we'd have more of the success you crave.
